Slopestyle competitor Carson Storch, currently ranked 18th in the world, held off a furious challenge from 15 of the top athletes in the sport to claim the 2015 Colorado Freeride Festival Maxxis Slopestyle title.  Storch earned the victory in front of a packed crowd on a picture-perfect day at Winter Park Resort.

Storch, who hails from Bend, Oregon, posted a score of 91 in his first run and that’s all he’d need, as Italy’s Torquato Testa finished second. As the highest ranked athlete which is not already invited to the upcoming FMB Diamond Series contest, Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx Whistler – Torquato is rewarded with a wildcard to this prestigous event.

Jakub Vencl from Czech Republic took third.  Nicoli Rogatkin, who is currently ranked fifth in the world and won Friday’s qualifier, fell in both of his runs to ensure Storch claimed victory.

Just missing the podium was Swedish rider Max Fredrikson who is having a promising season on this years FMB World Tour.

The Slopestyle finals were the centerpiece of another busy day at the state’s premier gravity mountain biking event.  Saturday also featured the completion of the Epic Cross Country event and the popular Intergalactic Pond Crossing.
