RED BULL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD 2019

  • The Red Bull Rookie of the Year Award comprises the FMBA Red Bull Rookie Standings and the Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line.
  • Red Bull Rookie of the Year starts on 1 January 2019, 12:00:00 am UTC+1 and ends on 15thNovember 2019, 12:00:00 am UTC+1 (inclusive)
  • Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line starts on 1 August 2019, 12:00:00 am UTC+1 and ends on 31 October 2019, 12:00:00 am UTC+1 (inclusive).
  • The Red Bull Rookie of the Year title will be awarded to the #1 ranked Participant on the FMBA Red Bull Rookie Standings to closing date. 
  • For the FMBA Red Bull Rookie Standings a Participant’s best two regular competition results from FMBA sanctioned Gold, Silver and Bronze Events (as per the FMB World Tour calendar) count as well as a Participant’s video competition result from the Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line. 
  • The Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line is a virtual competition where Participants hand in a video where they are being judged on and receive Silver level ranking points for. Participants need to register their entry for this virtual event via the FMBA member management platform
  • A Participant does not need to have three results to be ranked on the Standings but can also have less. 

 

ELIGIBILITY (also see ToP for more detail)

  • Athlete must have a current FMB World Tour License or a FMB Free Amateur License
  • Athlete must not yet have competed at a Diamond event unless via Wildcard in the current (2019) season to be ranked on the FMBA Red Bull Rookie Rankings
  • Athlete must be 16 and older and below age 22 (ranges 31.12.2002 - 01.01.1998)   to be eligible for participation 
  • Every athlete that is eligible for participation will be considered for the FMBA Red Bull Rookie rankings with his result(s)

 

RANKING FORMAT – FMBA RED BULL ROOKIE STANDINGS

  • For the FMBA Red Bull Rookie Standings a Participant’s best two regular competition results from FMB sanctioned Gold, Silver and Bronze Events (as per the FMB World Tour calendar) count as well as a Participant’s video competition result from the Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line. A Participant does not need to have all three results to be ranked on the Standings but can also have less.
  • Examples: Athlete 1: 2 Bronze competition results + video competition result; Athlete 2: 1 Bronze competition results + 1 Gold competition result + video competition result; Athlete 3: 1 Gold competition result.

 

RANKING FORMAT – FMBA RED BULL ROOKIE AWARD BEST LINE

  • Athlete must register for the Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line through the FMBA Member Management platform and agree to the terms and conditions for participation. Athletes need to have signed up for either a FMB World Tour License or a FMB Free Amateur License to be able to complete registration for Best Line.

  • The video contest will be set up and considered as a FMBA Silver level event on the FMB World Tour calendar 
  • Disciplines: DJ & SS
  • Judging: a dedicated judge panel will rank the Top 50 of all submitted videos and those athletes ranked within the Top 50 will receive FMBA Silver level ranking points according to their ranking. 
  • Videos on which athletes want to be judged on must NOT be videos from a FMBA sanctioned competition where athletes get FMB ranking pts from their regular competition results anyways
  • Video runs must be a maximum length of 1min and must not contain music
  • Video runs (within 1min length) should contain at least 3 consecutive tricks in one line and can contain more. 
  • Rider Introduction must be included within the video
  • Everything from the run must be seen on the video at all time - from take-off to landing - (e.g. no dead angles in landing) in order for the judges to score a run at full sight. No cuts allowed. 
  • Athletes can hand in multiple videos but will only be judged on their best one. If an athlete wants to hand in another video, he should be indicating why they are submitting a new video (e.g. new line, improving his tricks …)

 

SUBMISSION OF VIDEO - BEST LINE

  • Once you have registered you can submit your video through uploading it to WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com) and send to rookies@fmbworldtour.com
  • It is highly recommended that videos should be posted via Instagram and include the following hashtags: #ROTYBestLine #fmbworldtour #Redbullbike

  • Red Bull Rookie of the Year Award: Wildcard to Crankworx in Rotorua (NZL), flights and accommodation included.
  • Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line: Free FMB World Tour License for 2020 and a Red Bull Rookie Award Best Line trophy
