FISE Edmonton: Brett Rheeder keeps Gold in Canada

Last weekend the FMB World Tour stopped by in Edmonton, Canada. 31 athletes competed in front of the crowd and dropped into the slopestyle course embedded into the Wiliam Hawrelak Park. Due to weather issues the third day of FISE Edmonton mountain bike had to be cancelled. But the riders already sent it during semi-finals! After a huge semi-final at the FMB Gold Event in Edmonton and the qualifying on Friday, both in good weather conditions, high winds on Sunday, meant that Brett Rheeder (CAN) took home his second FMB Gold Event title this year.

A field of 31 riders was set to compete in the semi-finals – without knowing for sure that this would turn out to be the final result. What a great performance! With a course of a step-down and three jumps the trick level was enormous. In the end it was Brett Rheeder (CAN), who sent a solid run to take the semi-finals win. He started his winning run with a double truck driver of the step-down, followed by a 720 cork, an oppo 720 cork and finishing with a double backflip, this epic run scored him 95.00 points. Second place went to Mehdi Gani (FRA) with 89.33 points and Nicholi Rogatkin (USA) took home bronze with 87.00 points.
